Nova Scotia borrowers with student loans will now have greater access to the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP). Nova Scotia has enhanced the existing RAP by aligning with the new federal government RAP which was implemented in August 2009. Nova Scotia borrowers are now able to get the benefit of repayment assistance on their federal loan in addition to their provincial loan. The application process has been streamlined so borrowers who apply federally for RAP will automatically be adjudicated provincially, and borrowers will be able to access the application by contacting the National Student Loans Service Center or by going online to www.canlearn.ca.
